Letter To Customer Dear Mr: I have never encouraged oil to gas conversions because to do so makes no sense. We do convert people from gas TO oil, though. Frankly, I am surprised that anyone would make a decision to convert to gas particularly at this time. The national and local media have been talking for months about the many problems the Natural Gas industry has created for itself. Extremely high costs, limited supply, foreign dependence, no inventory for the end user, safety regulations from exploding meters and gas lines, and poorly repaired road & sidewalk “cuts” from gas leaks, are the main topics discussed but here are more. Before I made a large financial decision, I would want to know all the facts and from every perspective. I wanted to ask you a few questions that perhaps you have not asked yourself. Do I spend more money for my energy than my
neighbors with gas heat? Do I base my opinion on what unqualified people may think instead of believing an energy expert? Do I prefer to do business with an impersonal gas utility company instead of a local, family owned businessman? Do I have an underground storage tank? Has natural gas been less expensive than heating oil, on average, for the last 15 years? Do I have a choice of energy suppliers if I become dissatisfied with my current energy company? Will I receive better service from the gas utility? Since you now have oil heat with a storage tank above ground in a secured area, your answers to all the questions listed above should be a resounding NO! Small business people can make a difference in our society. Regardless of how aggressive the gas company’s “slick” advertisers and marketing departments are, they can’t beat us. It is mainly because most intelligent people see through these false claims. Personally, I am aware of several “gas heat” related tragedies that have occurred over the years. Because of the safety factor combined with the arrogance of the utility company, I won’t allow underground gas lines on my business and home properties. Please reconsider your decision to convert. We install modern, high efficiency oil replacement boilers & furnaces for our customers every day. These are longtime customers/friends and they made the intelligent choice for modern oil heat. With oil heat, you will save far more with a lower replacement cost but even more every year when you greatly reduce annual energy costs by as much as 40%. I will gladly supply references. *U.S. Department of Energy Maybe you can use this information some way, too. If you have additional questions, please call. Sincerely, David E. Cundiff, President
